The Gear Set Utility 9x9 is definitely one of the most versatile accessories in the line for your AMP backpack.
It has three compartments, two of which are very organized with panels, pockets and elastic bands. The central compartment, the largest, can be opened like a tray and remains open at 90° without tipping over thanks to the side straps. It is bellows designed.
In fact, the front part is equipped with a removable plastic panel to increase the rigidity of the "tray".
On the outside we find a loop panel that can accommodate patches or, as I like it, a Double Deploy bag.
THE BACK POCKET
The back pocket of the Utility 9x9 features 3 sturdy elastic bands perfect for holding your radio, power bank and other gear in place.
It was initially designed for AR magazines but I don't need them during my adventures, at least not as much as a radio!
THE CENTRAL POCKET
This is not a pocket, it's a special department!
First of all, the opening is controlled by the side bands and stops at 90 degrees to avoid spilling all our EDC into the jungle. I add the presence of a removable rigid panel that acts as a tray. Pure entertainment!
Internal equipment:
- 2 large pockets for documents or map
- 17 (seventeen!) elastic bands to keep items in place
- Movable mesh bellows (the black one) with two pockets and elastic bands
- possibility of also using the tray pocket to hide pocket money
FRONT POCKET
Did we want to miss out on another zipped pocket for documents and post-salami sandwich chewing gum?

The 5.11 9x9 Gear Set Utility pocket is also equipped with the best ZIPs on the market . Produced by YKK, leader since 1934.
HYPALON RINGS
Where does a stock market fail most frequently? Right at the buckle attachment, but this is not true for the 5.11 Gear Set which chooses Hypalon to make the joints. In order to understand each other, with Hypalon they make nautical dinghies!
DURAFLEX BUCKLES AND HOOKS
The buckles of Helmet Shove-it pockets for helmet and sweatshirt, as well as G-hooks, are made of Duraflex . You know when a backpack buckle breaks in your hand? Now, THAT'S NOT DURAFLEX!
MICRO RIPSTOP TECHNOLOGY
If you unfortunately hug a bramble bush, roll from a moving car or get into an argument with a barbecue fork... DON'T FEAR. This Gear Set is constructed with 5.11 micro ripstop technology and the hole will not become a tear!
MY FAVORITE CONFIGURATION
I love combining the Utility 9x9 with one of my Double Deploy bags which fits PERFECTLY. This adds an additional pocket on the outside which makes this configuration almost a backpack in its own right.
Of course without the bag all that Velcro would be wasted, so...
