KANTAMUS

MAIN COMPARTMENT

The main compartment is accessed via a roll top closure and also features a secondary vertical zipper on the right side.
Inside we find a special pocket for the hydration bag and the appropriate locking tabs.

FLAT FRONT POCKET

On the left side we find a zipper that opens onto a large flat pocket, very useful for equipment such as tarps or other flat items.

POCKETS IN THE HOOD

The lid is practically a separate pouch thanks to its pockets which can hold up to 8 litres !
Here, in fact, we find a pocket on the side of the neck that when full swells upwards but when empty remains flat and narrow .
This pocket is great for keeping a shell handy but also for maps or other tools you might need quickly on the go.

There is also a small zipped pocket on the front, which is great for small items such as keys, given the dedicated ring.
Finally, on the upper part we find an elastic cord to secure light equipment such as a mattress or a duvet.
The lid is completely removable , and can be replaced by an Askare or a Hatka, with specific adapters, to become modular.

BELLOWS POCKETS

On both sides we find slightly bellows pockets useful for securing long tools such as an axe to the backpack using compression straps.

Although they can hold a small military canteen, they are extremely low and flat, so it is advisable to attach a special pouch to the various MOLLE panels present.

ALUMINUM FRAME

The internal frame ensures rigidity and good weight transfer to the hips while the back is padded with a closed-cell foam pad in a dedicated compartment with Velcro closure.
This “mattress” can be easily removed and used for sitting or kneeling and the same compartment can be used to carry additional gear such as a poncho.

PALS BELTS

The presence of the Pals allows you to securely attach extra equipment.
All you need to do is add an elastic cord or strap to secure a sleeping pad or small tent, for example!

VELCRO

On the front there is also a generous Velcro panel, great for personalising the backpack with some patches or for indicating the contents of the backpack itself and grabbing it on the fly when needed!

INDESTRUCTIBLE

Most of the backpack is made of 1000D Cordura to ensure extremely high abrasion resistance.
Some parts such as the padding compartment or the roll top are instead in 500D in order to be lighter and more malleable .
The zippers are covered and have two pullers , so you always have a backup in case you tear one in the heat of the moment.
The buckles, lid, shoulder straps and belt can be easily removed and replaced in case of damage without the need for sewing parts.
This allows you to extend the entire life of the backpack!

GOOD NIR PERFORMANCE

Both the materials and the colors offer good resistance to infrared reflectance!

Kantamus means "carried load" in Finnish, or something heavier that you carry around, so perfectly suited for use with a versatile backpack like this one!
