The Guardian was originally designed to protect military personnel in the field, is rugged enough to withstand the conditions of travel, and meets the NSF P248 military standard.

- NSF Standard P248 : The most rigorous certification to prove that the device safely removes contaminants from dirty water sources. Guardians are the only purifiers to have passed the military standard P248 test for virus removal.
