A cosa serve il Poncho US Model in escursione?

In montagna il meteo cambia in un attimo, e questo poncho è la mia assicurazione: realizzato in tessuto antistrappo, ti ripara te e l'equipaggiamento anche sotto le piogge forti. E appena torna il sole basta appenderlo qualche minuto e si asciuga in fretta grazie al rivestimento ad asciugatura rapida. Io lo tengo sempre in fondo allo zaino, perché occupa niente e ti salva la giornata.

Quanto è ingombrante e pesante da portare?

Pochissimo, ed è il suo grande vantaggio. Una volta piegato e compresso pesa solo 487 grammi e si richiude in 14x22 centimetri, cioè sta in una tasca dello zaino. Aperto invece misura 210x145 centimetri, abbastanza da coprire te e lo zaino insieme. Io lo porto sempre proprio perché non pesa e non ingombra: è il classico pezzo che non senti finché non ti serve.

In che modi posso usarlo oltre che come impermeabile?

È molto più di un impermeabile. Grazie alla forma ampia e ai 4 occhielli metallici agli angoli lo monti come tarp, ci costruisci un rifugio di emergenza o un riparo dal sole. E con i bottoni a pressione realizzi le maniche per continuare a lavorare, oppure unisci due poncho per fare una struttura più grande. Io lo considero un pezzo di attrezzatura polivalente, non solo una mantella.

È comodo da indossare con lo zaino?

Sì, la taglia ampia è pensata proprio per stare sopra lo zaino, così copri anche il carico e non ti resta niente scoperto. Il cappuccio si regola con la coulisse per tenerlo fermo col vento. Io lo infilo sopra tutto quando inizia a piovere davvero e continuo a camminare: le braccia restano libere e l'acqua scivola via senza infiltrarsi.

Posso combinarlo con altri accessori?

Certo, ed è il bello della sua versatilità. I bottoni a pressione ti permettono di unire due poncho per un telo più grande a copertura di un gruppo o di un'area campo, mentre gli occhielli agli angoli accolgono cordini e paletti per il montaggio a tarp. Io lo abbino ai cordini che ho già nello zaino e in cinque minuti ho un riparo, senza portarmi dietro una tenda.

Come regge la pioggia forte e l'uso ripetuto?

Regge bene, ed è costruito per questo. Il tessuto è 100% poliestere antistrappo con le cuciture incollate, quindi l'acqua non passa dalle giunzioni, che è il punto dove i poncho scadenti cedono per primi. Io l'ho usato sotto acquazzoni seri e sono rimasto asciutto; poi lo appendo, si asciuga in fretta e lo richiudo. È il tipo di riparo che non ti tradisce quando conta.
