No more scratches on your upper receiver! Now you can safely disassemble and reassemble your bolt catch.

The flat profile and rubberized coating of these pin punches has been designed to intervene on the hold open / bolt catch of AR-15s comfortably and without damaging the upper frame.

HOW TO INSTALL THE BOLT CATCH

The bolt catch on the MIL-SPEC AR-15 is secured to the upper receiver with a spring pin . Installation is done in two steps with the two different tools provided.

PHASE 1

Using the hollow point tool you can support and insert the spring pin into the housing. You will need a plastic gunsmith's hammer.

After inserting the plug up to the stop of the pin punch , move on to phase two.

PHASE 2

Change the instrument and place the round head on the elastic pin , delicately completing the insertion always with the help of a polymer hammer.

TRICKS

1. To avoid leaving any traces of this work on the surface of the Upper Receiver, I recommend protecting it with masking tape. That way, even if you drop the polymer hammer, you won't cause any damage!
   
2. Make yourself comfortable for this operation with a MASTER BENCH BLOCK or better yet with a GUNSMITH VISE
3. Always work calmly and protect your eyes from springs that could jump, perhaps with some WILEY X.
