Hi, I'm Paolo from Backpacco and the purpose of this guide is to help you choose your new AMP backpack and answer some questions I've been asked by customers about these fantastic backpacks.
The measurements of AMP backpacks of 5.11 according to uses
First of all you need to think about what you will use your AMP backpack for . What I always explain to my clients is that it is never advisable to carry a backpack that is too large or too small compared to your real needs.
University and office
For university life which is now quite free from large paper books, an AMP 10 can work very well, perhaps with the Gear Set for the sweatshirt or helmet.
You have a sufficiently protected pocket for your tablet or a small laptop , your notebooks and all the compartments to keep the glasses and stationery materials you need organised.
The same considerations apply to the office but an Admin Gear Set may be more useful for the small objects of daily life at work, for example antacids :-)
Can I go trekking with the AMP10 backpack?
With an AMP 10 of 5.11 you have a 20 liter backpack with the possibility of mounting larger pockets, a bib and various solutions for organizing the interior.
You can certainly tackle short treks or nature trips , but it's not my favorite solution for more demanding routes.
How does the AMP 10 backpack perform on motorcycle rides?
It is one of the sizes most appreciated by motorcyclists and cyclists due to its low profile. Having the possibility of applying a Gear Set to the helmet then becomes very convenient for urban life. However, there is no shortage of motorcyclists who opt for larger sizes.
How do you see an AMP10 backpack for airsoft?
Well, that's what I always choose for this use. Small and inconspicuous, with the possibility of attaching the Gear Set 2 Banger and no one can stop us! (obviously in Ranger Green!!!)
Work and gym
When your day includes a trip to the gym and therefore the need for a shower or additional equipment... the answer is AMP24.
With the right Gear Set you can organize the inside and outside as you want and you have no limits, maintaining a backpack of small dimensions.
Is the AMP 24 backpack best for a couple of day trips?
I would say yes, I used it very often for business trips . If you don't need to carry around bulky clothing, in 32 Liters plus a good Gear Set you can fit a lot of stuff.
The AMP 24 model is probably the most versatile of the range , as well as my favorite :-)
And for a snowshoe hike in the snow?
Yes! The AMP24 of 5.11 is the size I definitely feel best with for walking in the snow . Stable on your back and fully configurable, but roomy enough.
Is the AMP 24 backpack the best size for the range?
In my opinion yes, then it depends on what activity you practice at the shooting range. Let's say that as long as we're calm, I'm happy with the 24. You can bring magazines, equipment and leave the Gear Set Med Puoch clearly visible in case it is needed.
If, however, you need to do dynamic shooting with belts like the one for the shotgun or a mountain of magazines... switch to the AMP72.
Multi-day trip
Here we need to focus on the AMP72 , a true beast of the category. This is a backpack with a capacity of 40L and this does not include the Gear Sets that you can attach.
When traveling you will be LOVED! With its side handle and pocket to organize all your electronic devices.
I'm a musician, is the AMP72 the backpack for me?
If you have to carry around numerous accessories and perhaps a wind instrument or a small keyboard... don't even think about it and buy an AMP72 !
Is the AMP 72 the right backpack for boxing or martial arts?
Yes, when along with the gearbox and the usual things you also have to start carrying bulky protections , get an AMP72 and you can't go wrong.
Having the division into compartments also allows you to "separate" the day between work and sport, so you don't risk destroying your documents while rushing to put your gloves in your backpack :-)
